Prancing and Sucking

I quit my job, sold my home, and drove around the country in the summer and fall of 2006, training BJJ, finding myself, and landing in LA. I still travel a lot and get to train in amazing places. Some of my friends are irritated that I "prance" around the world and think I "suck" for doing so.

Anonymous is still out of it but...

...one or two friends mentioned that they would have left comments on some of my recent posts if I were allowing comments right now. You might recall that I disabled comments as much as possible because I was tired of dealing with Anonymous' self-righteous, judgmental remarks. I don't even know who's still reading my blog because I post pretty sporadically these days, but if you are, and you don't mind identifying yourself, you can now comment again.

Anonymous can still suck it.

Cool stuff coming down the pike: my team Matty, Gretchen, Ben and I are going to compete in the CrossFit Ventura (http://www.crossfitventura.com) Affiliate Team Challenge next Saturday. I'll be competing for Paradiso CrossFit (http://www.paradisocrossfit.com), which is where all three of them compete, though my heart and my immature squat now belong to Eric, Vanessa, and everyone at http://www.teamcrossfitacademy.com. They are all cool with me helping out my friends, though as I told all of them, I'll definitely be the weak link on this team. It's not false modesty; it's the truth. The three of them are incredible athletes and I'll be doing my best to keep up. Maybe this is one of those events where sure, yeah, you do the workouts, but between sets you eat a double-double, like they did for In N Out Fran (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OaC3TDOTzkQ).

But would that be better or worse? Hard to say.

I would've commented, too (though I forgot on what now!), so I'm glad you're opening it back up. And it's your blog and your community here, so you should feel free to erase what any trolls say.

I'm glad you are opening comments up again. Maybe there's a way to automatically block anonymous? A quick google search turned up this solution:

http://toolator.com/ban/index.php?cmd=create

But I'm not sure how effective it is.

God I hate those commenters! I had the same thing happen. Grrr!

At least if you make the comments go through you first you can reject ones you don't like. However you still have to resist the temptation to read them!

I am so very glad you opened it back up. There have been many times I wanted to drop you an encouraging word and thanks to "Anonymous" I could not. Keep it up! Good stuff.

Yay, commencing comment! Did I ever mention that I have a theory that "anonymous" is probably your next door neighbor (y'know that person that's always around but you never notice them) and is madly in love with you (from afar). Too bad he/she is a total doody head. It's just a theory. Just catching up on January's posts. Thanks for putting this out there Val!
