Prancing and Sucking

I quit my job, sold my home, and drove around the country in the summer and fall of 2006, training BJJ, finding myself, and landing in LA. I still travel a lot and get to train in amazing places. Some of my friends are irritated that I "prance" around the world and think I "suck" for doing so.

Chez Linzy

Been a busy week! I've gotten started teaching a couple of courses online, I have been training every day in preparation for next weekend, and Johnny and I arrived in Richmond yesterday afternoon for the weekend to do the seminar at Andrew's school and just hang out and have fun. So far, so good! We are staying with the Linzys, which is always a blast. They have two big Rhodesian ridgebacks, a huge TV for watching the UFC (holy crap, I'm assuming Liddell will be eating most of his meals through a straw for the next couple weeks), and lots of food.

Today was the seminar, which went well (at least several more BJJ guys have man-crushes on Johnny than did yesterday), and tomorrow we'll go to an open mat at Andrew's academy. Beforehand Chrissy is going to take me to Jason and Mark's CrossFit affiliate, which apparently just got approval and is getting its start in Jason's garage, as so many affiliates do. Only problem is that I forgot my sneakers, so I hope we do a workout that I can be barefoot for! (Chrissy is planning to bring a book, rather than be roped into picking up heavy things and then putting them down again. Maybe I can convince her at least to pick them up.)

More to come. Right now it's time to sleep off the effects of too much vegan chocolate cake, courtesy of Cynthia. It was delicious, but not Zone-favorable.
