Prancing and Sucking

I quit my job, sold my home, and drove around the country in the summer and fall of 2006, training BJJ, finding myself, and landing in LA. I still travel a lot and get to train in amazing places. Some of my friends are irritated that I "prance" around the world and think I "suck" for doing so.

'Tis the season

to be incredibly busy and harried. I'm working on my two courses, a consulting gig, and trying to prepare for the no-gi Mundial. Everything culminates next weekend. Meantime, I'm flying to Virginia tomorrow morning to visit the Linzys, Andrew, Mikebyrd, et al. There's a Wilson Reis seminar on Fri eve, the Mission Submission tournament on Sat, and a team training for the Richmond BJJ Revolution (Andrew and Eric's academies) team on Sunday. So I'll do the seminar, compete in the tournament, and crash the team training.

In between, I'll continue to prepare for the no-gi Mundial, do my CrossFit, shop for the holidays, teach the beginner gi class on Monday and Wednesday, and maybe sleep sometimes.

Do I sound cranky? I am a little. I'll get over it. I am just anxious about giving everything the attention it warrants and worrying that I'm not.

But VA will be loads of fun! The Linzys have three sons: two Rhodesian ridgebacks and one Weimaraner. I love to train with all my friends out there. Richmond is a cute little town. Mikebyrd is hilarious. All good things. Plus, I'll get to sleep on the plane!

Oh crap, that reminds me that I have to pack and then go to sleep so I can wake up at 4:30am in time to drive to Santa Monica for the 6am CrossFit class. That way I can fit in my workout and still make it to the airport in plenty of time to check in, maybe check my email, get in the plane, and collapse.

Hey Val if you want to get any closer to Santa Monica I started renting a room in Redondo Beach only to have yet another job switch back to a San Diego company. Why is life never simple?! ED
