Happy birthday, Mom!
I spoke to her this morning, and she was preparing to have a terrific day. I love you, Mom! Hope it was great.
It is also Seph's birthday. Happy birthday to him!
Went to the No Limits tourney and MMA expo yesterday. It was a lot of fun, though there wasn't anybody for me to compete against. A few high- and lowlights:

Noah, a 17-year-old purple belt at New Breed, took second place in his division. He did really well. I was cheering him on and the kids standing in front of me happened to be friends of his. One of them asked me, "Are you his mom?"
That was great (not really). Especially because this expo featured many many many women who had been hired to walk around in scanty clothes to tantalize the mostly male clientele. There was even a stripper pole, and lots of women in platform go-go boots gyrating around it. They looked bored.
This does not do much for my recent desire to be girly and pretty. I am old enough to be considered somebody's mom, and I have a black eye.
Okay, on that time-marches-on note, I'll write more about the expo later. Meantime, happy birthday to Mom and Seph!

If you work hard at it, perhaps you can leap from "mom" (and you have heard of the ... um...slightly inappropriate term "milf"?) directly to "dirty old woman." Just start putting on a lot of that smelly pancake makeup stuff and heavy floral perfumes.
Hey, it's not easy being a "nonconventional" (i.e., not 17 anymore) grappler.
But you inspire a lot of us with your hard work.
Think of those first joggers baCK in the '70's and how people used to laugh at them.
One day grappling will be an accepted middle aged sport. I think.
In the meantime people keep telling me to work to get promoted faster, because apparently there are a lot of middle aged tae kwondo black belts out there, and I won't stand a chance against them until I have a black belt too.
