Prancing and Sucking

I quit my job, sold my home, and drove around the country in the summer and fall of 2006, training BJJ, finding myself, and landing in LA. I still travel a lot and get to train in amazing places. Some of my friends are irritated that I "prance" around the world and think I "suck" for doing so.

Well I can imagine that sitting anywhere near Mike Tyson would make anyone "discomfited" among other things, haha.

"He was very pleasant, and the people around him were intrigued and happy to talk to him, though also obviously discomfited."

Well that is a little awkward. Howabout:

"Although Mr. Tyson had a pleasant demeanor on the flight, the people sitting nearby were nonetheless quite visibly disturbed."

The southern (Harris) fire was blocked at the Sweetwater reservoir by military helicopter water dumps. The northern (Witch) fire was pretty much uncontained until just a few days ago. Fires are still actively burning on the eastern edges. Fortunately the western edges are contained, so that it is no longer spreading. I volunteered at Qualcomm stadium to hand out water and food ... about 10,000 people were staying there temporarily. All the hotels were booked. I think they estimate 1/2 million people were evacuated. Fortunately most can return to their homes (or what is left of them). The cause is purportedly high voltage power line sparks. At least one of the 12 fires total in southern cal was caused by arson.
