Prancing and Sucking

I quit my job, sold my home, and drove around the country in the summer and fall of 2006, training BJJ, finding myself, and landing in LA. I still travel a lot and get to train in amazing places. Some of my friends are irritated that I "prance" around the world and think I "suck" for doing so.

Another day, another embarrassment of fun stuff to do

Sitting in a cute restaurant called Cafe 821, having some breakfast, "borrowing" some wireless, and hanging out till open mat at Ted's at noon. After that I'll take a drive to Girdwood, a ski resort and vacation spot that has come recommended by a couple people and is only about 35 miles from Anchorage. And there is a Renewable Resource Fair going on in a park near my hotel until 10 tonight. I have no idea what that will be like, which is why I'll check it out too!

Then I'll spend what's left of the evening writing about my visit to Talkeetna yesterday and my impressions of the MMA event I attended last night. I'm debating just staying up all night tonight; my flight to Juneau tomorrow is around 7:30am, and I know enough about what's going on in the world to know I should get to the airport plenty early. And leave the free shampoo in the hotel room. Yikes.

Until then, here is a picture of some of the Anchorage-area countryside: beautiful, rugged, forbidding. Not for the weak of heart, but inspirational if you have a little fortitude. (I have about a thimbleful.)
